THE PASTORS' COUNCIL

JOURNEY SO FAR: EBENEZER

PREAMBLE

“make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands, serve the lord with gladness come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord He is God, it is He that made us, and not we; and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praises; be thankful into him and bless his name. For the Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting and his truth endures to all generations” Psalm 100: 1-5

It is with gladness, joy, and a heart full of thanksgiving to give all glory, adoration, and honor to the King of Kings; Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega, he who was and his to come, may his name be glorified in the Name of Jesus Christ Hallelujah. The C&S Pastoral Council came not as an accident or by mere thinking of an individual in fact, the emergency of the Council was by divine inspiration, divine direction, and divine approval, Amen to the Lord. Just like the sheep of Christ in the gospel of Luke Chapter 12:32. 

“Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!”

PHASE ONE: ESTABLISHMENT

This was the anchor scripture that laid the foundation upon which the CSMC Pastoral Council was established 10 years ago (2006) at the International Convention Retreat of the great Church hosted by Ibadan District on the Sunday 5th November, 2006 it was a great day.  In attendance that day at the official inauguration were the following Pastors that are in the Ibadan conference,

  3. Pastor A. C. Oloruntobi     – Ife-Iwo District
  4. Revd J. O. Awodola           – Ilorin District

  6. Pastor T. O. Sule                – Faith in Christ District
  7. Pastor Tunde Ogunbiyi     – Ilorin District
  8. Pastor R. O. Ogunkunle    – International headquarters

And some other Pastors were in attendance. To God be the glory Haleluyah!

DEVELOPMENT

The Council after the inauguration held her first meeting in Ilorin District headquarters in February 2007, and important decisions were taken that the following Pastors should run the affairs of the Council:

During the installation and ordination of His Grace, The Most Rev’d Dr. Samuel Adefila Abidoye during Mount Horeb in Kaduna in May, 2006 the officers selected particularly the Chairman and Secretary was rectified by His grace.

The first ever Retreat/Convention was held on the 12th-14th September 2007 at the Nigerian Youth Camp Eiyenkorin with the theme: ABLE MINISTER OF THE NEW TESTAMENT under the Chairmanship organizing committee, Pastor M. A. Popoola and Rev’d. J. O. Awodola. At the time the council did not possess any money, the Ilorin District Headquarters came to our rescue by giving us a loan of N50, 000, 00, under the leadership of our able Chairman and leader Special Apostle Dr. J. O. Daniel, may the Lord continue to bless and increase His Church in Jesus name amen.

PHASE TWO: LEADERSHIP

Special Apostle Pastor Jimmy. T. Odedele was the pioneer Chairman/Conference Supervising Pastor who led the Ministry for the period of 3 years (2007 to 2010) and the second phase of Leadership in the Pastoral Council came into being, when Pastor J. T. Odedele became District Chairman, Saint Mary as such he vacates the office while Special Apostle Pastor Theophilus O. Sule became the second Conference Supervising Pastor between (2010 to September 2013), Special Apostle Ewulo was made Deputy Chairman and Pastor Haruna Didam Secretary, later the Secretary was split for Pastor Haruna Didam as Board Secretary and Pastor E. K. Didam as Council Secretary, again Pastor Moses A. Popoola assumed the office of the Deputy Chairman.

At the 2013 Convention Pastor T. O. Sule became the District Chairman of Faith-in-Christ and Pastor Moses Ademola Popoola was appointed as the third Conference Supervising Pastor in September 2013 with Pastor Fola Onafuye as the Deputy Chairman and late Pastor Didam maintained his office as the Secretary. Until his death in the year 2015 because he was appointed Secretary of administration at the International Secretariat of the Church but later passed on to be with the Lord after a brief illness, may the Lord console and keep his family and the rest of the Council members, Pastor Surv. Solomon Adamu Katanga was appointed as the new and fourth Secretary to the Council and was introduced to the general in November 2015 during the International Conference at Galilee, Orile Igbon.

During the February 2017 His Grace Prophet Dr. Samuel Adefila Abidoye dissolved the existing Board members as such were given plaques as a reward for service when he was reconstituting the Boards again the position of the deputy was not mentioned but the following was written to be the new Board, they are:-

In January 2021 Special Apostle Pastor Fola Onafuye was appointed the fourth Chairman and Conference Supervising Pastor as Special Apostle Pastor Moses Ademola Popoola was already appointed Director, of Missions. The nomenclature of the “Board” was changed to ADVISORY COMMITTEE. Special Apostle Pastor Fola Onafuye is still the current Conference Supervising Pastor with the above-listed members as Advisory Committee. 

PHASE THREE: ACHIEVEMENT
  1. Purchase of a plot of land at Ibogun in Osun State for the establishment of a model parish
  2. Completion of Part A of the two wing hostel for the Pastors at Galilee, Orile Igbon
  3. Purchase of 83 mattresses for the Council
  4. Contributing to the development of the Horeb ground to the turn of 1 million naira
  5. Purchase of a 320 ML Mercedes jeep for the office of the Conference Supervising Pastor
  6. Appointment of many of our members as District Chairman and Secretaries all over the world
  7. Appointment of a member of the Council as the new General Evangelist
  8. Appointment of our former secretary as conference Secretary Administration
  9. With the aid of the Pastors, Bible School and Seminary were established and
  10. Many of our Pastors are involved in the writing of our Church periodicals
  11. Nearly Completion of CSP Residence and Council Secretariat
  12. Three of our members were appointed Members, Board of Trustees etceter

  2. Change of attitude of many leaders to the Pastors in our Churches
  3. Training and re-training of Pastors in the CSMC doctrines and practices
